AlphaStream is often confused with more traditional financial news and social content providers because we have provided feeds and alerts to certain clients in the past. However 2020 has been a year of reflection and change for many people and we were no different, so we adjusted our proposition to focus on what we are passionate about and what we think makes the most difference to our customers and their clients – personalisation.
There is a huge amount of specialist data providers that exist, and they generally provide excellent data sources, particularly in the financial markets. AlphaStream is capable of ingesting all of these data sources and converting all of this information into a single personalised version for each client that is based on how that client consumes information and executes trades.

When creating a personalised news and social feed for an online brokerage for example AlphaStream will ingest a financial news source such as a Dow Jones or Dataminr financial news feed and deconstruct it into its raw parts, identifying entities, topics, contributors, products, people and places and grouping and enriching it ready for distribution to a specific client ID on a specific channel. All of this is done in real-time.

By ingesting and processing a 3rd party feed we can begin to identify important market events that might be occurring within the data and monitor it to see how it develops from a story into a market event that can affect the price of a stock or other instruments.
