Business Analyst

Home-based role

We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic business analyst to join a small tech team working in an agile environment operating within the trade markets retail and banking sector.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be a key member of the delivery team working on large projects and small BAU changes. Working within an Agile development framework you will ensure that user stories/requirements are ready for when the development team needs them, but extensive up-front user specifications are not required.

The successful candidate will be working on our core products and taking on responsibility for seeing their work through from conception to delivery with support for planning and delivery from the line project manger. This role offers the right person a chance to be part of a friendly team who work closely together and are passionate about what they do.

Skill and Experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience of preparing user stories/requirements.

  • Prioritising and scheduling of tasks.

  • Experience of analysis within an Agile environment.

  • Lean/ Six Sigma & Change Management background

  • Experience of testing and developing test strategies.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Good analytical skills, methodical and structured in approach to design and problem solving.

  • Confident in taking on responsibility and working under your own initiative.

  • Hardworking, focused and able to work to deadlines.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, skills and methodologies as well as willingness to develop your existing skills.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience using a ticket-based planning tool such as Jira and documenting in Confluence

Beneficial Skills

  • Trade Retail & Banking product experience

  • User interface/experience design

  • Workshop management and documentation skill set

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge advantageous but not a prerequisite

What will you do?

  • Run workshops, help facilitate planning sessions, produce requirement specifications and obtain clarity on tasks

  • Be the conduit of validation for requirements and acceptance criteria

  • Work in tandem and report to PM on status update and project work

  • Work with Data scientists, Developers and Business / Client owners, to translate concepts and deliverables into requirements and pieces of work

  • Will support in reprioritising workload and alleviating bottlenecks in the delivery process

  • Based on background / experience, will provide input to optimise and improve delivery output and efficiency

  • Perform other duties as required by the line manager, within the role scope
